What we collect, which is not much.
Effective 2026-08-30. This is a static publication with no accounts, no comments and no advertising.
Analytics
We measure aggregate traffic with Plausible Analytics, which does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses in a form that identifies you, and does not track you across sites. We see page views, referrers, countries and device types in aggregate. We cannot identify an individual reader from it.
Hosting logs
The site is served by Netlify, whose infrastructure keeps short-lived server logs (including IP addresses) for security and operations under Netlify's own privacy policy. We do not use those logs to profile readers.
If you email us, we keep the message for as long as it is useful to handle it and to maintain a record of corrections. We do not add correspondents to any list. If we launch a newsletter, it will be opt-in, separately disclosed, and unsubscribable in one click.
If you give us your email to get a data file, we store that address (processed by Netlify Forms, our host) and use it for exactly two things: sending you the file if you asked us to email it, and telling you when that file materially changes. If you chose to download the file directly instead, we do not email you at all beyond that change notice. The delivery mail is sent through Resend, our email provider. No other mail, no list beyond that, and no tracking pixels in anything we send. Ask us to delete your address at any time ateditor@hoatechreport.com.
Cookies
We set no cookies. The site uses session storage (cleared when you close the tab) for one thing: remembering that you already saw the download prompt, so it does not reappear. It identifies nothing and is sent nowhere. Third-party embeds (for example a video) may set their own cookies; we avoid them where we can and note them where we cannot.
Sharing
We do not sell or share reader data, and we do not pass reader information, analytics or leads to any vendor we cover.
Your rights
Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at editor@hoatechreport.com. Because we hold almost nothing, the honest answer is usually “your emails.”
